FormatMatch Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

FormatMatch is made by Costa Technologies, LLC.

What we collect

FormatMatch does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Costa Technologies, LLC receives nothing from the app.

The clipboard

To do its job, FormatMatch reads what you copy, removes the formatting, and writes the plain text back to your clipboard. This happens only on your Mac. FormatMatch keeps no clipboard history and does not store the contents of what you copy. Items that password managers mark as concealed are not read or changed.

Network

FormatMatch makes no network connections. Any copy that reaches your Mac from another device through Universal Clipboard is delivered by macOS, not by FormatMatch.

Settings stored on your Mac

FormatMatch saves your preferences (such as whether it is on, your keyboard shortcut, the apps you exclude, whether the menu bar icon is shown, and Start at Login) on your Mac only.

Third parties

FormatMatch contains no third-party code, analytics, advertising, or tracking, and shares nothing with any third party.

Your control and deleting data

You can turn FormatMatch off at any time with Deactivate FormatMatch in its menu. Deleting the app removes it; because nothing is sent anywhere, there is no data on our side to delete.

Children

FormatMatch collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
